AXLE PREPARATION

1. Tack weld a plate in line with the
factory bottom perch. This will give you a guide for both the arm
brackets and the sway bar tabs. Basically, the plate provides you with
a plane to make sure all parts sit level.
2. With the plate on the
bottom, the arm mount can be put in place. The mount with the threaded
end is the passenger side where the track bar will ultimately mount.
The mounts should sit flush so that the alignment cam end of the mount is
flat on the guide plate. Once everything is in line the mount can be
welded to the axle.
3. The shock tabs are spaced
1.25" (inside measurement) and centered on the top of the axle tube.
4. The sway bar tabs are then
mounted to also sit flush with the guide plate just as the arm mount
brackets do. The outside to outside measurement of the two tabs should
measure 37.5" and point to the middle of the vehicle. |
